Custom labels for 1-5 and 1-7 scales

Researchers can now customise labels for Likert Scale questions rather than relying on a standard numeric scale by default. When setting up a Likert Scale block, custom labels can be defined across both 1–5 and 1–7 scales, and this can be done either for every individual point on the scale or just for the key anchor points at either end, depending on what a given study calls for. Once set, these labels carry through consistently across Preview Mode, Tester View, and the mobile experience, so participants see the same wording no matter how they're taking the survey.

Standard numeric scales don't always give respondents enough context to answer with full confidence, since a number alone can be interpreted differently by different people. Labels such as Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree, Very Unlikely to Very Likely, or Poor to Excellent help close that gap by making the intent of each point on the scale explicit. This improves the clarity of the question being asked, reduces the chance of two respondents interpreting the same number differently, and keeps that clarity consistent regardless of the device or language a participant happens to be using.
